Seeing a bride transform on her wedding day is one of my favorite things about of being a wedding photographer. It’s so cool to watch all the pieces come together and see a beautiful young woman change from an ordinary beauty to a stunning bride. Tara’s transformation was so fun to watch. Her bridesmaids and mom were so helpful at every step of her preparation, but the best part was when mom stepped away for just a moment and the finishing touch of the veil was added after the dress was on. That moment when mom saw her daughter, finally as a bride was so exciting. Of course, it was even more thrilling when Kevin saw Tara walking down the aisle, escorted by her Brother, Isiah.
Tara and Kevin enjoyed a beautiful wedding ceremony at Ashton Creek Vineyard in Chester, Va on a hot and humid Saturday in June. The ceremony was short and sweet and we kept the family and bridal party in the shade for all the formal photos. The guests enjoyed cocktails on the outdoor patio and DJ Matthew from Bow Tied Weddings entertained the guests throughout the entire evening. The rustic details of mason jars, burlap, roses and hydrangeas fit perfectly with the rustic feel of the venue’s indoor reception space. We can’t stop talking about how much we enjoyed Capt. Rob’s barbecue spread or the gorgeous modern blue and coral cake by Favienne. The bride and groom personalized their wedding with an rockin’ s’mores station for the guests to enjoy. They wrapped up their evening with a lively last dance, then enjoyed a private last dance together before escaping through their sparkler exit and leaving the reception in a lifted truck.
